Blue Tier Training Solutions opened in December 2019 as Kansas City's most distinctive self-defense and preparedness facility. Founder Derek Ruffin brought together his three decades in law enforcement (including SWAT and Executive Protection work), his medical background as an ER nurse and psychological trauma specialist, and 30+ years of martial arts training—including five professional fights and over 20 years teaching.
