Woodland Paintball Built for Teamwork

Tiger Paintball operates a recreational paintball social club in Columbia for players 18 and up. Unlike tournament-style paintball on inflatable fields, all games are played in the woods with a focus on strategy and teamwork rather than firepower.

What Makes Tiger Different

The club uses pump action paintball guns only—no semi-automatics. Here's why: pump guns force slower, more deliberate play. You can fire roughly one paintball per second instead of 5-10 per second with a semi-auto. This eliminates the frustrating experience of getting hit multiple times in a row and keeps the game focused on tactics, communication, and positioning instead of spray-and-pray shooting.

Getting Started

First day costs $10 and includes all gear. No experience necessary—most players are new.

If you want to keep playing, membership is $50 one-time (covers annual insurance and field maintenance). Members get heavily discounted rates on paintballs and equipment—basically wholesale pricing.

What You'll Do

  • Capture the Flag games in woodland terrain
  • Training clinics where coaches teach fundamentals and real game scenarios
  • Monthly meetups in a low-pressure, non-competitive environment
  • Team challenges if you want to organize group play against rivals

First-time clinic: Free for new players. Returning players pay $20. Learn gun handling, aiming, strategy, and play real games with coaching.

About the Hits (and What to Wear)

Paintballs hurt less than you'd think—more like a dish towel snap. Tiger uses high-quality paintballs that break on contact, which reduces stinging. Honestly, half the time players don't even feel the hit, just hear it.

Wear layers and something in tan or brown if you have it (old khakis work great). Skip the hockey goalie armor approach—you'll overheat. Boots offer ankle support on uneven ground; sneakers let you move faster. Either works.
