Location details and information
The Saddle & Sirloin Club was established on November 23, 1940 by the founders of the American Royal Livestock Show. Over eight decades, it's evolved into a full-service private club combining equestrian sports and shooting sports on 300+ acres in south Kansas City.
The club relocated to its current 14401 Holmes Road location in 1999 and has since built out one of the region's most complete shotgun shooting facilities.
The shooting sports program features:
- •Trap shooting - Classic clay target discipline
- •Wobble trap - Moving target variation
- •Skeet shooting - 8-station course
- •5-Stand shooting - Multiple shooting positions
- •Sporting clays - Field-style clay target shooting
Shooting instruction is available for those just starting shotgun sports or experienced shooters looking to refine technique. The facility operates year-round.

The Saddle & Sirloin operates as a private equine club that also promotes shooting sports. Member goals focus on providing a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere for shooting competitions, clinics, and leagues while preserving traditions connected to the American Royal.
Beyond shooting, the property includes on-site stables with 100+ spacious stalls across six barns, 44 pasture spaces, a 100' x 150' indoor arena, two 125' x 230' outdoor arenas, and over 326 acres of maintained trails.

Restrictions
- •All shooting activities must be supervised by NRA-certified Range Safety Officer or equivalent
- •Program serves registered Royal Rangers outposts and affiliated churches
- •Instructor certification required for leaders conducting shooting sports
- •Activities must comply with Royal Rangers national guidelines and safety standards
