Sniper Central at Butte Gun Club

Sniper Central conducts their Long Range Precision Marksman shooting classes at Butte Gun Club, located on the outskirts of Butte, Montana. The location sits at the bottom of Homestake Pass in the Rocky Mountains—elevation 5400 feet—which means you learn how thinner air actually impacts bullet flight. Not a simulator. Real conditions.

When Sniper Central teaches here, they get full access to the entire facility:

• •High power range: Extends to 1000 yards
• •Silhouette range: Wide open space to place unknown distance targets anywhere
• •Moving target engagements: Advanced classes can use the butts system for dynamic scenarios
• •Covered firing lines: 100-yard range and unknown distance areas are covered; 200-1000 yard ranges are exposed (bring a mat and rain gear)

The butts system allows advanced students to practice moving target engagements—something most ranges can't offer.

There's an older classroom on-site where instruction blocks happen, then literally walk out the door to the firing line. Traditional outhouses available; no running water. You'll occasionally see mule deer passing through—part of the mountain country experience.

Butte's summer and fall weather is pleasant with only occasional thunderstorms. Winter brings snow, ice, and sub-freezing nights. Plan accordingly.
