Full description and what we offer
Bill Goodman has been hunting down quality antique and collector firearms since the early 1980s. What started as a passion for firearms history evolved into a full-time mail-order operation—one that's been advertising in The Gun List (now Gun Digest the Magazine) since the publication's earliest issues.
All sales are by mail order only. Bill travels the country constantly seeking good-quality collector arms at realistic prices. Every firearm is photographed and posted online—just click the item you want to see. Most listings include multiple photos from different angles.
Key policies:
Layaway sales are final. Prices do not include shipping.
Goodman specializes in high-grade examples across multiple categories:
Colt Firearms – Single Action Armies, New Service revolvers, Officers Models, Cobras, and rare caliber variants like .32 New Police and .22 LR training models with factory documentation.
Marlin Rifles – Model '94 lever actions in rare calibers, 1895 rifles in .33 WCF, and hard-to-find Connecticut-made models with period-correct sights.
Winchester Rifles – 1873s, 1876s, 1886s, 1892s, 1894s, 1895s, and specialty models like the Model 52 target rifle and high-wall variants.
Smith & Wesson – Pre-war and early post-war revolvers in .32-20, .38 Special, and .44 calibers. Hand Ejectors, target models, and M&P variants.
Antique Single Shots – Remington Rolling Blocks, Ballard rifles (including rare brass-frame Ball & Williams examples), Sharps Highwalls, Stevens rifles, and Whitney-Laidley Rolling Blocks.
Period-Correct Shotguns – Damascus and steel barrel doubles from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, suitable for black powder loads.
Specialty & Rare Pieces – Including one-of-a-kind items like the J. Kimball Arms .30 Carbine auto pistol (only 250–300 made in 1955), Savage 1899 rifles with museum documentation, and early percussion pistols.
All guns are sold as collector's items, not shooters. If you plan to fire any piece, Goodman strongly recommends having a competent gunsmith specializing in antique/classic firearms inspect it first.
Guns are listed exactly as they arrive—unaltered, with original sights and markings intact whenever possible. Condition descriptions are detailed and honest, including bore condition, finish wear, and mechanical function.
Many high-end pieces come with museum documentation (Cody Museum call-in sheets) verifying caliber, barrel length, production year, and original shipping records—a significant value-add for serious collectors.
