Montana High Country operates out of Southwest Montana's Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, where the family has hunted for three generations. Licensed outfitters Aaron Smith (#44108) and Roddy Reynolds (#44120) have combined for over 2,500 days guiding hunters across terrain ranging from 5,000 to 11,000 feet in elevation—windswept peaks, dense forest, open ridges, sagebrush hillsides, and willow-covered river bottoms.
All hunting packages come with: - Up to 5 days of guided hunting (2 hunters per guide) - Airport transportation from Butte - 5 nights lodging and meals - Montana hunting license

You'll stay either at their guest lodge or a comfortable wall tent base camp, depending on your hunt type and timing. Guides handle trophy care and photography. Meals are family-style and all-you-can-eat.

Non-resident elk and deer licenses are allocated annually (17,000 combo licenses, 4,600 deer-only). Applications due April 1st. Recent legislation created a preference point system. Montana High Country helps clients navigate applications and explains the preference point strategy.
Special permits (moose, mountain goat, bighorn sheep) require May 1st applications. Bear and wolf licenses are over-the-counter but must be purchased 5 days before hunting.
Staff limits clients per week and maintains low guide ratios to ensure personal service. Guides are experts in both rifle and archery hunting with deep local knowledge. High return rate from repeat clients.
