Precipice Outfitters operates from Montana's Paradise Valley, north of Yellowstone Park, running guided hunting expeditions for hunters of all skill levels. The outfit focuses on backcountry terrain accessed by horseback, with trips into rugged units where elk, deer, mountain goats, and black bears live.
Black Bear Hunts - Spring (5 days, $4,500) – spot and stalk, over-the-counter tags - Fall (7 days, $7,500) – included with elk/deer packages - Available in color phases: black, brown, cinnamon
Meals, lodging, animal field care, and extraction are provided on all hunts. You handle your own licensing, tags, and airport transport. Processors are available locally—hunters pay for processing.
When hunting season closes, they offer horseback trips (July 1–September 1): - 2-hour rides: $200/person - Half-day (4 hrs): $400/person - Full day (6-8 hrs): $700/person - 2-person minimum; lunch included; lake fishing available (bring your own license)
The outfit emphasizes ethical hunting and responsible wildlife management. Guides are experienced in backcountry navigation and animal behavior. All deposits are non-refundable but will be held for future dates if you don't draw your tag.
