Shieldwerks specializes in firearms instruction aligned with Montana's Enhanced Concealed Carry Permit (introduced 2024), which gains reciprocity with additional states. The Enhanced permit requires completion of a certified handgun course within the preceding 12 months—Shieldwerks' one-day course meets all state requirements.
- •Montana Enhanced Concealed Carry — One-day live fire covering:
- •Fundamental safety, nomenclature, weapon placement
- •Grip, stance, trigger control fundamentals
- •Loading, unloading, reloads
- •Live fire drills: instinctive shooting, speed vs. accuracy, multi-threat engagement
- •Basic gunshot wound medical response
- •Montana concealed carry and use of force law overview
- •Minimum: 200-300 rounds of ammunition
- •Level 2 Handgun — Intermediate course building on basics. Requires prior completion of the Enhanced/Basic course.
- •Non-dominant hand shooting, weapon transfers
- •One-handed reloads, use of cover while shooting
- •Introduction to team movement and basic tactics
- •Increased medical training with live fire component
- •Carbine Basic — Foundational rifle instruction. No prior experience required.
- •Safety, weapon handling, shooting fundamentals
- •Malfunction drills, marksmanship principles
- •Tactical movement, transitioning between positions
- •200-300 rounds of rifle ammunition required
- •Sling and sights recommended
- •Stop The Bleed/TCCC — Non-firearm tactical medical course (4-8 hours) for military, law enforcement, and first responders.
- •Care Under Fire, Tactical Field Care, Tactical Evacuation Care
- •Massive hemorrhage, airway, respiratory management
- •Hands-on casualty management before advanced care availability
All firearm courses require: - Quality semi-automatic handgun - Quality holster and supporting belt - 3+ spare magazines with holders - Hearing and eye protection - 18+ years old (21+ for Enhanced CCW permit) - No firearms prohibitions
