Tillmans Bed and Breakfast

Tillmans operates Telegraph Creek Ranch near Malta, Montana—a sprawling 4,000-acre property in the Missouri River breaks east of the Little Rockies. Located within a few miles of the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge and surrounded by Block Management and public land, the ranch sits in a sparsely populated area with hundreds of elk and deer roaming the terrain.

All hunts are non-guided, meaning you hunt independently across open range, deep coulees with willows and brush, and sage-brush covered drainages. The ranch maintains excellent habitat with abundant grass, water, and prime creek bottoms.

Elk Hunts: Archery season opens early September (best tag opportunity via bow drawing). Rifle season runs the third week in October by special permit. The area is drawing-only for elk in Area 622.

Deer & Antelope: Both mule deer and whitetail available, with tags varying year to year. Combo hunts for multiple species available.

The rolling grain fields and broad prairie support abundant sharptail, Hungarian partridge, sage grouse, and pheasant. Access to over 10,000 acres of ranch and farmland. Long season runs September 1 through January 1. Expect to walk 5-8 miles daily across a wealth of birds. Trained dogs welcome.

Guests stay in a restored 1929 ranch home with showers on both floors and comfortable beds. Home-cooked meals included. You can literally walk out the door to hunt—wildlife grazes in the meadows directly in front of the house.

All fees cover lodging and private land access only. Montana hunting licenses required separately (April 1st deadline). These are fair-chase hunts on well-managed land with wildlife plentiful throughout the season. Limited number of clients per week to maintain quality hunting.
