Full description and what we offer
Lost Island Hunt Club has operated as a private hunting destination since 1981, located on an island on the South bank of the Platte River near Linwood in NW Butler County Nebraska. The club is positioned roughly an hour drive from both Omaha and Lincoln, with premium proximity to Nebraska's Platte River Refuge—one of the largest in the Central flyway and a major staging area for Mallards and Canada Geese during fall migration.
Hunts operate from late October through mid-February, using a mix of floating blinds on sandbars and islands, portable blinds, and a heated pit blind in adjacent wetlands. The heated blind includes hot plates, electricity, and comfortable seating with river views.
What makes their setup different: - Ice-out systems keep water open even in harsh conditions - Professional calling and state-of-the-art decoys - Top-notch retrievers - Mixed-bag opportunity over water (river and flooded wetlands)
A typical hunt day starts at the lodge with coffee, heads out pre-dawn to set decoys, and usually wraps by 2-3 PM to let birds return for evening roost.
Trophy white-tail hunts offered on limited basis for both archery and rifle hunters. Semi-guided format with timbered islands, food plots, trail cameras, and comfortable one- and two-man tree stands.
They specialize in customized packages for: - Family groups and reunions - Corporate/business team building - Hunting buddies - Individual getaways
Packages range from one day to multiple days for groups of 4 to a dozen or more. Lodging, guides, gear for travelers, and meals can all be arranged.
April through August, the island becomes available for family reunions, corporate retreats, and vacations. The 5-bedroom lodge has full kitchen, satellite TV, air conditioning, wood-burning stove, great room, sunroom, covered deck, and river views. Connected 8-bedroom bunkhouse also available. The property supports swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, bird watching, and wildlife viewing.
"Family, guests, and customers have enjoyed the Island for years and always look forward to their next visit."
Special youth-only seasons for September teal, fall duck/goose, and late Canada goose hunts.
Waterproof camouflage, layers, waders, sleeping bag or bedding, shotgun with plug and non-toxic shells, licenses and stamps (Nebraska small game permit, habitat stamp, duck stamp, HIP number, federal migratory bird stamp), and proper eye/ear protection.
Bird processing available on-site with cleaning area, indoor processing room, and chamber vac. Local processing can also be arranged for a fee.
