Full description and what we offer
CCW Las Vegas has trained thousands of shooters seeking Nevada concealed carry permits. Operating out of East Sunset Road in Las Vegas, they've built a reputation for straightforward instruction and getting students through the mandatory state requirements without the usual headaches.
If you want to carry concealed in Nevada, there's no way around it: you need a CCW permit and you need the 8-hour class. Nevada doesn't allow online courses, military experience waivers, or out-of-state training to count. You have to show up in person with a licensed Nevada instructor.
That's where CCW Las Vegas comes in. Their instructors have 25 years of firearms instruction experience and run weekend classes at American Shooters gun range.
| Class Type | Duration | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Nevada CCW Only | 8 hours | $100 |
| Nevada + Utah + Florida | 8 hours | $150 |
| Renewal Class | 4 hours | $80 |
Gun Rental Available: Don't own a handgun yet? Rent one at the range for $30 cash (includes ammunition and gun). You only need to qualify with one gun to carry any handgun.
1. Complete the 8-hour class – You'll do this with CCW Las Vegas 2. Qualify on target – Happens during class at American Shooters 3. Apply at LVMPD – As of March 2020, online application with fingerprint appointment (covered in class) 4. Pay application fee – $100.25 at LVMPD office (can use credit card online now) 5. Wait for approval – 120 days maximum by law, usually faster
Get recognized in 40+ states with permits from Nevada, Utah, and Florida. These three states have broad reciprocity agreements. However, always verify your specific permit is valid before traveling—reciprocity lists change and vary by state.
Important for Residents: Nevada residents CANNOT use out-of-state CCW permits to carry in Nevada. You must get a Nevada permit. Non-residents can apply too, but they'll need to apply through their county sheriff's office instead of LVMPD.
Your CCW permit is valid for 5 years from issue. When it's time to renew, the 4-hour renewal class costs $80. Nevada charges $63.25 for renewals ($20 late fee if you miss the deadline).
Note: Due to range remodeling, classroom instruction happens approximately 15 minutes away from the range facility. Target qualification is done at American Shooters.
You must be 21 (18 if active duty or honorably discharged military), a US citizen or legal resident alien, and clean of felonies, violent misdemeanors in the past 3 years, DUIs in the past 5 years, stalking convictions, domestic violence convictions, or restraining orders. Mental health commitments and habitual drug/alcohol use disqualify you. Dishonorably discharged military members cannot apply.
