The Washoe County Sheriff's Office Civil Services division issues Concealed Weapons Permits under Nevada Revised Statute 202. This is the official pathway to carrying a concealed handgun in Washoe County—no private instructors, no third parties. The Sheriff's Office handles it directly.
Online first, then in-person:
1. Fill out and submit your application online (Chrome browser recommended) 2. Print your completed application 3. Receive an automatic email with your appointment scheduling link 4. Schedule your appointment—slots open up to 120 days in advance, so check back regularly 5. Bring all required documents to your in-person appointment at the main office or Incline Substation
Appointments missing required documents will be rejected on the spot.

The Sheriff's Office has 120 days to process applications per Nevada law. Critical for renewals: submit all materials 120 days before your current permit expires—don't wait until it's already expired.
Once approved, CCW permit holders can carry any handgun under NRS 202.3657.
