Defense in Heels was founded by Patti Stewart, a nationally recognized self-defense instructor, author, and women's safety advocate with over 20 years of experience. Stewart brings a unique background combining international self-defense certification, celebrity bodyguard work, and risk assessment expertise. She's a former Mrs. Nevada pageant winner and public speaker dedicated to teaching women how to protect themselves in everyday situations.

The mission is straightforward: teach practical, real-world safety skills that help women and children feel powerful, prepared, and unafraid. Stewart's approach uses awareness training and physical training statistically proven to work in the scariest situations women face.

The flagship 3-hour group class is realistic, practical, and scenario-based. Taught primarily for women and teens from 6th grade to adults, it includes:

• •Full-contact training against instructors in protective gear
• •Focus on sexual assault scenarios ("Girls on Guard / Jane Jitsu")
• •Training to avoid men's strengths while exploiting their weakest targets
• •College safety discussion when applicable

• •Women's Basic Firearm Training Class - Hands-on shooting instruction
• •Women's CCW Class - Concealed carry permit certification (April and October dates listed)
• •Full-day format (8am-5pm)

• •"Play It Safe" Class (ages 6-11) - Role-playing with mock bullies and strangers, verbal and physical defense, friendship drama guidance, stranger awareness
• •"Parent & Me" Class (ages 4-6, or advanced 3.5 year-olds) - 1.25-hour format where parents learn alongside children
• •Girl Scout Self-Defense - Confidence, boundaries, and real-world safety skills with awareness patch
• •Children's Firearm Safety Class
