Defoor Proformance Shooting runs 2-day tactical firearms courses taught by combat-proven instructors. Founded in 2009 as a Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, DPS trains about 1,800 students annually and holds multiple government contracts with U.S. military, law enforcement, and federal agencies.
Kyle Defoor and his instructor team are decorated Special Mission Unit combat veterans and law enforcement officers with hundreds of high-risk warrant entries. They bring field-tested techniques directly into civilian training.
Every course covers the same core skill set:
- •Mindset and combatives
- •Weapon setup and safety
- •Fundamentals and accuracy
- •Targeting, movement, and speed
- •Manipulations and multiple targets
- •Shooting under stress
Physical demands are real. Some drills require elevated heart rate and exertion. The combatives block includes hands-on training with other students. Days run 8am-4pm.

Background check required. Minimum age: 21. Courses are for shooters with prior training and solid fundamentals—not for beginners. If you're unsure, email [email protected] before registering.
Eye and ear protection (required) Firearm: Serviceable gun with 6 magazines minimum Ammunition: 1,000 rounds per course Holster: Kydex or plastic that covers the trigger guard. No SERPA holsters. Knife: Quality fixed blade with kydex sheath. Training blade (smooth edges only). DPS recommends Headhunter Blades, Atienza Kali, Northman Blades, or Sayoc Kali. Medical kit: Templar Medical recommended Thai pad: One per pair if attending with a friend Accessories: Sharpie marker, pen/paper or phone for notes, gun maintenance kit For Max Distance courses: Magnifier for RDS or LPVO
Bring your own food and water. Wear appropriate seasonal clothing.
DPS offers free dryfire training links to practice manipulations at home before class. Using this cuts down on wasted range time and makes the 2-day intensive more effective.
Full payment ($750) due at registration. Background check required at signup.

No audio or video recording during class.
