Full description and what we offer
Les Baer Custom manufactures hand-fitted 1911 pistols from their Nevada facility. Every component gets individual attention—slides, frames, and barrels are matched and fitted to tolerances that most shops don't even attempt. The result is firearms that shoot tighter than factory pistols should, with reliability that's earned them a reputation among serious shooters.
Their lineup includes models purpose-built for specific roles:
Four brand new 1911 models launching in 2025, including the special-edition American Handgunner collaboration and the limited Presentation Grade.
Les Baer offers refinishing on their own pistols in like-new condition:
| Finish | Slide Only | Frame Only | Complete Gun |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reblue | $130 | $180 | $250 |
| Hard Chrome (Brushed) | $170 | $280 | $380 |
| Hard Chrome (Bead Blasted) | $170 | $280 | $380 |
| DuPont® S Coating | $190 | $250 | $380 |
The DuPont S coating stands out—it's a state-of-the-art finish with self-lubricating properties, superior corrosion protection, and durability that outperforms traditional bluing.
"I've seen how Les Baer guns are built. You'll never find a better built 1911, with every part hand fitted for extraordinary accuracy and performance." — Jim Scoutten, Shooting USA
The Shooting USA Custom Pistol came directly from this endorsement. The MAGA 1911 in 10mm features color case hardening, charcoal blue, gold-inlayed slide engravings, and woolly mammoth ivory grips—it's built to be both displayed and shot.

Les Baer is actively recruiting up to four gunsmiths for immediate positions. Hands-on 1911 experience preferred. Contact them at (563) 289-2126 or [email protected] for employment applications.
