Location details and information

Sierra Firearms Academy started in 1994 when Mike Robbins and Dave Keller—both primary firearms instructors for Nevada's largest law enforcement agencies—decided to bring their expertise to civilians. Between them, they trained over 800 sworn police officers across basic, advanced, and tactical disciplines before going full-time with the academy. They're not the cheapest option in Northern Nevada, but you're paying for people who have actually done the work.

Your training comes from:

  • Mike Robbins - USPSA Master Class shooter, retired from Washoe County Sheriff's Office after 27 years
  • Dave Keller - Retired from Reno Police Department with 30+ years of service
  • Pat Lee - 29 years with WCSO including Detention, Patrol, Investigations, SWAT, and Training. Taught law enforcement counter-terrorism tactics nationwide and instructed at the Center for Domestic Preparedness
  • Rocky Triplett - 29 years with Sparks Police Department, served as lead firearms instructor for Sparks PD SWAT for over 10 years

Combined credentials: 115+ years law enforcement experience, 65+ years SWAT experience, 100+ years teaching firearms skills.

All are certified armorers for H&K, Glock, Sig Sauer, Beretta, Remington, Smith & Wesson, and Ruger. Instruction certifications include NRA, H&K, and numerous tactical training organizations.
