Plumsted Arms operates as a full-service Federal Firearms Licensed dealer in Cream Ridge, New Jersey. Owned by D.R.A. Technologies, they handle firearm transfers, NICS background checks, and sales for the general public.
Unlike traditional retail gun shops, Plumsted Arms doesn't stock inventory on-site. Instead, they ship directly from wholesale distributors, which means they can offer a large selection without the overhead. Orders placed online typically ship within 48 hours, and their real-time inventory database stays current with supplier stock.

If you buy a firearm directly from Plumsted Arms, you pay zero fees beyond the gun price and New Jersey sales tax. They absorb all NICS and processing costs.

Pickup times are assigned by reservation. You must complete the ATF Form 4473 online and submit your NICS form through their website before scheduling.
Applied for your firearms ID card or changing your address? Plumsted Arms will store your transferred firearm at no charge until you receive your permits. The 12-month limit applies—after that, unpicked-up firearms can be sold to recover costs.
Private sales now require a licensed dealer to run the NICS check. Both buyer and seller must be present at the same time. If the NICS check doesn't come back within 15 minutes, you both leave and return when it clears—no storage involved.
Plumsted Arms assumes no liability for disputes, firearm condition, or paperwork submission between buyer and seller.
They do not perform compliance work—no pinning stocks, welding compensators, or magazine modifications. Reason: unclear state law and liability exposure. If your transferred firearm arrives non-compliant, you can either send it to another FFL for work (at your cost) or return it to the seller. On non-compliant magazines, you can forfeit them to Plumsted Arms or return the entire firearm.
- •Absolute rule: No face-to-face transfers of non-compliant firearms. They won't risk felony charges.
