CSSB provides the mandatory 18-hour concealed carry firearms safety training required by New York State to apply for or renew a concealed carry permit. As of September 2022, this training is non-negotiable—all existing permits renew as concealed carry permits only, including retired officer and business licenses.
The course consists of (16) hours in-person classroom instruction plus (2) hours live-fire training delivered by Duly Authorized Instructors:
Students must score a minimum of 80% on the NYS written test to receive certification.

Classes run Fridays and Saturdays, 9AM–5PM. Multiple dates available January through March 2026.
All Metro-North commuters to the White Plains class location receive 50% train ticket reimbursement.
