Lansing Rod & Gun Club

Lansing Rod & Gun Club was founded in 1955 by hunters, fishermen, clay target shooters, and conservationists who wanted a place to shoot and give back to the community. That same philosophy runs the club today.

The range supports multiple disciplines:

• •Trap, rifle, and pistol shooting - competitive and recreational
• •Hunter safety training - certified courses for hunters
• •Bow and gun training programs - instruction for skill development
• •Competitive leagues - Cayuga Lake League, creamsicle league, flat league, and ATA registered shoots
• •Special events - 200 bird marathons, turkey shoots, gun raffles

What sets this club apart isn't just the shooting. They actively manage wildlife through pheasant raising and release programs and run a walleye rearing and stocking operation that supplies the local fishery. They've invested in stream improvement and maintain a rod building and fly fishing seminar program.

The club also:

• •Teaches responsible gun ownership and safety to youth

This isn't a commercial range trying to squeeze revenue. It's a conservation organization that happens to run a shooting facility. Membership gets you access to the ranges, competitive shoots, and all the programs. New shooters and families are welcome.
