Mars

Mars started in 1946 when Harry Stein and Walter Sobel opened their first location in Freeport, New York, fresh back from the war. By 1948 they'd expanded to Bay Shore. Today, the Bay Shore location remains one of Long Island's oldest continuously operating businesses, now run by the next generation of the Sobel family.

While Mars built its reputation as a parts supplier—cutting drums, rotors, and flywheels, making custom hydraulic hoses and heavy-duty cables for car owners, repair shops, farmers, and collectors—they also operate as a fully licensed Federal and New York State firearms dealer.

Mars uses a fully computerized system to keep the bureaucracy moving. They handle transfers from other dealers and manage background checks efficiently.

Transfers need to be picked up in a timely fashion. Items left longer than 21 days incur a $2/day storage fee. If a firearm gets returned to the shipper, you cover the transfer fee, return shipping, and all accrued storage fees.
