Tact Training

TACT Training Center operates a state-of-the-art facility in Port Jefferson Station using non-lethal training aids instead of real firearms. This means you don't need a New York State pistol permit to train here. All equipment is NFA-compliant (non-firearms), making it accessible to anyone 18+ who wants hands-on tactical instruction.

Andrew Stigliano, owner and chief instructor, has been training with firearms since 2002. He worked with Colorado A.T.T.E.C. (Advanced Tactical Training and Elite Combat), trained with Elite Fighting Concepts, and spent the last decade learning and teaching at Shadow Hawk Defense in West Virginia. He holds NRA Instructor, NRA Concealed Carry Instructor, and Range Safety Officer certifications, plus specialized certs in CQB, combatives, barricades and bounding, and shooting from vehicles.

Eric Pucci, co-instructor, is a 82nd Airborne Division and 1/69th Infantry National Guard veteran who worked the 9/11 Security Detail in Manhattan. He's trained with Shadow Hawk Defense for ten years and holds certifications in firearm safety, basic pistol, combatives, CQB, and vehicle shooting.

• •Level One covers the fundamentals—proper grip, stance, sight picture, trigger control. Designed for beginners and anyone fixing bad habits. Builds confidence from zero firearm experience.

• •Level Two bridges basics into advanced applications and mental concepts. Instructors work one-on-one to eliminate bad habits and sharpen precision under realistic conditions.

• •Level Three is advanced and specialized—shooting on the move, weak-hand shooting, kneeling and prone positions, tactical reloads, CQB fundamentals, concealed carry techniques, and vehicle defense under pressure.

TACT offers the nationally recognized NRA RSO certification. You must already be an NRA Certified Firearm Instructor to enroll. The course covers RSO roles and responsibilities, range SOPs, range inspections and rules, firearm stoppages and malfunctions, and emergency procedures.

• •No experience needed. Beginners are the specialty—you'll feel safe and comfortable throughout.
• •Equipment provided. Bring your own if you want, but TACT inspects everything before use.
• •Dress code: Comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, pants with a belt.
• •Private sessions available. One-on-one, semi-private, family workshops, and corporate team-building events by appointment.
• •Safety first. They only train people with a genuine desire to learn and who understand safety is non-negotiable.
• •Law enforcement and corporate training. TACT teaches specialized groups for emergency tactics and team building.
