Watertown Sportsmen Club focuses on education and access—teaching Jefferson County residents of all ages the fundamentals of shooting, hunting, and fishing. The club operates as a membership-based facility with range facilities open daily.
Shooting Disciplines: - Trap and skeet shooting (Tuesday evenings 4pm-8pm) - Rifle ranges with recent improvements to grounds and facilities - 4-H Indoor Air Rifle programs - Pistol instruction and NY State pistol permit classes
Youth & Education:
The club is dedicated to educating Jefferson County residents, especially youth, in shooting sports fundamentals
Their 4-H program and youth fishing derby (Stephen L. Rich Youth Fishing Derby) show real commitment to the next generation.
The board includes Antonio Luciani as Chairman and an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer—meaning instruction meets national standards. Leadership includes Bill Hunt (President), Lance Campbell (VP), and experienced board members across shooting disciplines.
The club actively maintains its 17,751 Dry Hill Road facility with volunteer improvements to gravel work, parking, rifle range upgrades, and general grounds keeping. Recent projects include new scoring stands for trap fields.
