Westchester Firearms Safety

Westchester Firearms Safety specializes in getting shooters certified for concealed carry in states where they don't live. Based at Mount Vernon Shooting Center in New York, they run live fire qualifications and legal training for three permit programs:

$160–$190 (includes loaner handgun + ammo if needed)

Meets Connecticut's requirement for the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Class. You'll complete the shooting portion (longer than NY's qualification) plus get application paperwork and passport photos provided.

This is the more demanding course. NJ requires you bring your own pistol. The qualification is a "Go/No Go" exercise—you must: - Demonstrate safe handling (loading, unloading, drawing, malfunction clearance, re-holstering) - Follow all range commands without hesitation - Score 80% (40 out of 50 rounds) on the live fire course of fire

The course includes a 1-hour NJ-specific law review. No coaching during the live fire qualification. Disqualification results if you don't meet the standards—there are no second chances on range. Those who pass receive a certificate for your NJ application.

"We advise all participants that if they are NOT prepared to meet these standards, postpone their qualification until they believe they can meet them."

$185 (includes fingerprints and passport photos)

Utah permits are recognized in 30 states. You'll complete a 1-page application in class and have everything needed to submit by mail. Utah issues permits within 60 days.
