Areté Firearms Training operates as both a training provider and North Carolina PPSB-licensed security services company. The principal brings over 20 years of security industry experience plus a decade of firearms and instruction background—a solid foundation for the work they do.

Concealed Carry The standard NC CCW course. You'll need to bring 40 rounds of ammunition (minimum), an unloaded handgun for inspection, proof of ID, magazines or speed-loaders, a holster or gun case, and range attire with eye and ear protection. No handgun? They rent them for $10 (ammo not included). You receive a certificate upon successful completion.

Basic Handgun Training Covers safe handling fundamentals, weapons nomenclature, maintenance, and basic shooting techniques. Bring at least 100 rounds.

Long Gun Certification (Rifle/Shotgun) A 16-hour, two-day course introduced by the PPSB in 2016 that sets national standards for security professionals using rifles. Teaches rifle marksmanship fundamentals for both shotgun and rifle platforms.

For professionals: 20 hours over three days covering legal issues, handgun operation and maintenance, marksmanship fundamentals, night firing, and shotgun work. Includes written exam and firearms qualification for certification.
