Carolina Firearms Training & Gun Sales

Carolina Firearms Training specializes in the North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun certification course. This is the required class you need to submit your certificate to the sheriff's department for your concealed carry permit. One full day (8am–6pm), $90 base price. If you don't own a firearm yet, rent one for $10 plus the $100 ammo-included rental fee.

You'll cover legal issues, handgun safety, handgun types, marksmanship fundamentals, concealed carry techniques, presentation from holster, cleaning and maintenance, ammunition basics, and proficiency drills. Regular breaks every hour, lunch provided on-site (or bring your own—they have a fridge and microwave).

No firearm yet? You can still take the class. Rent a .22 semi-automatic pistol for $25 (ammo included) and shoot your qualification at 7 yards.

Never shot before? This class works for beginners. They teach fundamentals alongside the legal stuff. Farthest you shoot is 21 feet.

Take the class at either location and apply for your permit in your home county.

Basic Pistol ($100) — 2.5 hours classroom, 2.5–3 hours range. Learn pistol parts, operation, ammunition, safety, shooting fundamentals. Prep course for concealed carry or defensive training. Bring your own gun (100 rounds) or rent for $25.

Defensive Pistol 1 ($150) — Not for beginners. Learn presentation from holster, tactical and emergency reloads, malfunction clearance, target transitions. Requires 450 rounds, semiautomatic 9mm or higher, OWB holster, 3+ magazines. Outdoor range, dress for weather.

AR/Carbine Basics ($100) — Half-day at Siler City (12pm–5pm). Covers safety, fundamentals, nomenclature, carbine operations, practical exercises. Need AR-type rifle with iron sights only, tactical sling, 3 mags, 250 factory rounds (no green tip), eye/ear protection. Bring mat/tarp for prone shooting.

Defensive Red Dot ($225) — Advanced optics training. Learn to draw and acquire red dot quickly, transition from irons to optics. Requires 500 rounds, 9mm or higher, mounted optic, OWB holster, 3+ magazines. Not for new shooters; recommend Basic Pistol first.

Ages 8–12 — Saturdays, 1:00 PM at Siler City. Teaches universal safety rules, grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger press. Each kid paired with certified instructor. Single-shot .22 rifle for practice. Includes ammo, firearms, eye/ear protection, take-home info packet. Limited to 15 students. Parents must stay on site.

Ages 13–17 — Saturday mornings, 9:00 AM at Siler City. Same curriculum but at teen pace. Parents required on site.

Customized armed and unarmed security programs for houses of worship. Instructors draw from law enforcement, US Special Operations, medical, NRA, and USCCA backgrounds. Training can happen at your facility or theirs. Certifications include Basic Firearms Training, Countering Mass Shooter Threats, First Aid, and more.
