Good Guys With Guns handles concealed carry certification and handgun training the way it should be done—focused on North Carolina law, real-world safety, and building actual competence with a firearm.
The instructor holds NCDOJ, USCCA, and NRA certifications. That's not resume padding—it means the instruction you get covers exactly what North Carolina law requires, plus the fundamentals that prevent accidents.
| Course | Duration | Cost | What's Included |
|---|---|---|---|
| NC Concealed Carry (CCH) | 8 hours | $100 | Classroom + range qualification, CCH certificate for permit application |
| Handgun Fundamentals | 4 hours | $125 | Grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, malfunction clearing, basic field stripping |
| Private Coaching | 2+ hours | $75/hour | One-on-one, tailored to your goals (first-timer to advanced) |
This is the 8-hour state-approved course you need to apply for your CCH permit. It covers:
- •NC Firearms Laws – Where you can and cannot legally carry, deadly force statutes
- •Handgun Safety – Safe handling, storage, carrying practices
- •Fundamentals of Shooting – Proper stance, grip, aiming, trigger control, follow-through
- •Conflict Avoidance & Awareness – Threat recognition and de-escalation
You'll shoot at least 50 rounds during the qualification portion. If you don't own a gun, rent one (a .22 caliber handgun) for $25—ammo is included. Otherwise bring any handgun and ammunition you prefer.
Classes fill fast. Spots are limited to keep instruction personal and hands-on. Book early.
A 4-hour option ideal for beginners or anyone sharpening their skills. Covers the same shooting mechanics as the concealed carry class—grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control—plus malfunction clearing and basic cleaning/disassembly. Mix of classroom and live-fire range time.
Take this before your concealed carry class to build confidence, or after to reinforce what you learned.
One-on-one instruction customized to your goals. Whether you're a first-time shooter, uncomfortable with your new carry gun, or focusing on home-defense scenarios, the instructor tailors the session to what you actually need.
Classes run at Eagle 1 Gun Range, 4410 Craftsman Drive, Raleigh, NC. Indoor range, climate-controlled but temperature varies with outdoor weather.
Dress for the range: - Closed-toe shoes required - High scoop-neck top (helps deflect hot brass) - Brimmed cap optional - Note: Exposed skin can receive minor burns from ejected casings
Ear and eye protection provided (bring prescription glasses if needed). A 45-minute lunch break is built in—bring a bagged lunch or grab food nearby.
