Capt. Zane grew up hunting and fishing Virginia's backwoods, cutting his teeth on puddle ducks and divers around Buggs Island Lake. After high school, he served as an Army infantryman, but a 2015 parachute accident ended his military career and opened a new path: becoming a full-time hunting guide.
