Right Sight Training in Concord delivers what most concealed carry classes don't: real depth. This isn't a quick checkbox course. It's a full day of classroom instruction followed by live-fire range training and qualification.
Day one covers the material you need to understand before you ever touch a firearm:
But here's what separates Right Sight from the rest: you train with laser pistols in class. Sean walks each student through proper stance, grip, and trigger control. You see your accuracy, trigger control speed, and real-time stats on the screen. He diagnoses what's wrong and fixes it before you ever get to the range.
Day two is the range. Students who've never fired a gun before show up nervous. Sean meets them where they are—patient, encouraging, checking form one-on-one, and making sure everyone's safe. By the end of the day, they're ready to qualify and apply for their permit.
"Having taken the class in TN previously, I found I learned more in this class and I enjoyed it more as well. Sean was a great instructor, and ran the class very well." — Aj Paolucci
Beginners: If you've never shot before, this class walks you through everything. No embarrassment. No assumptions. Sean explains why each safety rule matters and shows you the right way to do it.
Experienced shooters: Even if you've been carrying for years, the NC law section is essential if you're new to the state. Multiple students with prior concealed carry training from other states said they learned significantly more here.
Mixed experience levels: Classes include everyone from first-time gun owners to competitive shooters. Sean teaches in a way that keeps both groups engaged.
Sean Baxter isn't just certified—he's genuinely invested. He holds certifications from:
Students consistently note that Sean explains things clearly, answers every question without rushing, and uses real-world examples from his decades of experience. He'll follow up with you after class if something came up during training.
Class Size: Limited seats by design. Smaller groups mean more individual attention and hands-on time at the range.
Bring: A lunch and snacks. Classes can run longer than scheduled because Sean doesn't rush the material.
Handguns: Bring your own or rent one at the range. Bring the manual if you have it.
"OMG! WHAT A CLASS! Our class was awesome. Sean was really great as an instructor. My husband and I each bought a brand new gun and decided to take Sean's class to learn about guns and to obtain a concealed carry handgun permit. I am very glad we did. He explained everything and was very patient in answering questions. He demonstrated the safe way to handle guns and how to safely load and unload them. After the classroom instructions we headed to the shooting range. My husband and I are new to guns and never shot one before. He came around to each student, one at a time, to check and make sure we were OK, to see if we needed help and to make we were safe and being safe while using the guns. He really made us feel comfortable." — Desiree Griffith
"Sean has an incredibly engaging teaching method through history, stories and real life scenario reviews. His experience and expertise speak volumes already but the completeness of his engaging content & level of detail in his material show just how much he cares and practices his craft often. This is not just some fly by night class with an instructor trying to flip a buck. If you want to actually learn from the best (and be entertained) then this is the place." — Raymond Andersen
Carrying a concealed handgun is a legal and practical responsibility. You need to know the law—when you can use force, when you can't, what happens if you have to defend yourself. You need to know your firearm works reliably and you can hit what you're aiming at under stress. This class covers both.
