Full description and what we offer
Sharpshooterz Tactical Solutions LLC launched in 2020 with a specific mission: bring diverse representation and inclusive instruction to firearms education in the Greensboro area. Founded by Erica and Dontae—both NRA-certified and NC CCH instructors—the company recognizes that not everyone feels welcome in traditional gun training environments.
Making the sport of shooting safe and fun.
Their motto isn't marketing speak. Erica brings 9+ years of firearms experience, Dontae brings 17+ years. Both actively work to break down stigmas, foster inclusivity, and empower shooters to handle firearms confidently.
This is the full-day class for serious permit applicants. Minimum 8 hours classroom plus range qualification time. You'll cover:
- •Legal issues and NC carry law
- •Handgun safety and operation
- •Marksmanship fundamentals
- •Carrying concealed: safety issues and presentation techniques
- •Cleaning, maintenance, ammunition selection
- •Proficiency drills
The written exam requires 80% minimum. The range qualification is specific: 8 rounds at 1 yard, 10 at 3 yards, 10 at 5 yards, 12 at 7 yards. You need 30 of 40 rounds in the target's kill circle.
- •Not for first-time shooters. If you're new to shooting, start with First Steps or Core Pistol Skills first.
- •First Steps Pistol Orientation — NRA-certified basics course covering revolver and semi-automatic pistol operation, ammunition types and calibers, pistol selection, storage, cleaning, and fundamentals. Mix of classroom and live fire. You'll shoot a qualification and get an NRA-signed certificate.
- •Core Pistol Skills & Safety — Comprehensive 5-hour class for new shooters or those refreshing fundamentals. Covers firearm safety, pistol operation, grip and stance, trigger control, malfunction basics, and guided live-fire practice. Emphasis on real-world confidence.
- •Women's Pistol Foundations — This class is designed differently. It's exclusive to women, taught in a judgment-free environment at a relaxed pace. Same core content—safety, operation, grip, stance, trigger control—but techniques emphasize skill over strength and explicitly address confidence-building and fear management.
- •One-on-One Private Lessons — 1.5-hour sessions focused purely on improving aim, accuracy, and shooting skill. Strongly recommended to complete First Steps or Core Pistol Skills first so you have firearm safety fundamentals. No certificate issued—these are for personal skill development only.
- •Small Group Lessons — Same format as private (1.5-hour increments) but for families, co-workers, or small groups wanting to improve aim and accuracy together. Again, pre-requisite knowledge is recommended.
Book by Appointment Only Contact Sharpshooterz at (336) 405-7343 or message them on WhatsApp. They operate by appointment exclusively.
- •Cancellation Policy varies by class type, but generally requires 48-72 hours notice. Late cancellations ($24 hours or less) typically result in a "no show" status and may require rebooking fees. You have 4-6 weeks to reschedule after a weather cancellation or unforeseen circumstance.
- •Children 12-17 can take most courses with a parent or legal guardian.
- •Inclement Weather can postpone outdoor classes (like Shooting Fundamentals); makeup dates are offered.
In a training market dominated by traditional models, Sharpshooterz explicitly designed their program for inclusivity. The women's class exists because women shooters often report feeling uncomfortable in mainstream instruction. The founders' combined 26+ years of experience means instruction quality, not just curriculum breadth.
Their refund policies are strict—no refunds given, period. This reflects the reality of firearms training: instructors reserve venues, prepare materials, and hold spots for enrolled students. The upside is class sizes stay manageable and instruction stays focused.
