Goose River Outfitters operates guided hunts across North Dakota's best waterfowl territory—from the Red River Valley flatlands to the Missouri River bluffs. They specialize in early season Canada goose hunts over agricultural fields and regular season combo duck-and-goose hunts in central and southeast North Dakota, plus late season Minnesota goose hunts November through December.
Early Season (August 15 – September 21) - $325/day without lodging, $375/day with lodging - Hunt over peas, wheat, barley, and oats—mostly hot X fields - Early season limits: 15 Canada geese per person - Early license $50 for non-residents
Regular Season (October 1 – December 4) - $350/day without lodging - Central/southeast North Dakota (Zone 3 and Missouri River zone) - Combo duck-and-goose hunts; Red River Valley goose-only with occasional bonus ducks - Regular limits: 8 geese, 6 ducks (5 Mallards max) per person
Late Season – Minnesota (Late November – December 25) - $300/day without lodging - Dedicated Canada goose hunts in western Minnesota
Joe Jensen, guide and owner, has lived in the Red River Valley since 2014 and spends 100+ days per season in the field scouting fresh feeds and maintaining landowner relationships. This local knowledge translates directly to client success.
Hunts use panel blinds and layout blinds. Groups are capped at 12 hunters with 2 guides per 6 hunters. All hunts require a 3-day minimum booking, with 50% non-refundable deposit. Private groups need a minimum of 6 hunters.
Bring 3 boxes of ammunition per person per hunt. Licenses required: hunting license, HIP Certification, Federal Waterfowl Stamp (plus state waterfowl stamp for Minnesota hunts).
Recommendations on lodging provided upon booking. Gratuities appreciated at end of hunt.
