Arm The Populace handles firearms and personal defense training with a straightforward philosophy: self-preservation is your responsibility, and they're here to help you handle it right.

They specialize in concealed carry classes and advanced training for people at every skill level—from never-touched-a-gun beginners to experienced shooters looking to sharpen their skills. In 2018, they certified nearly 1,600 people through their CCW courses, making them the most recommended and most attended CCW training operation in Ohio.

• •The instructors actually care about who walks through the door. Owner Douglas Cooper and instructor Charlie Griffin have put serious time into their craft. Cooper's a Cincinnati native with degrees in Literature and History, minors in Theology and Philosophy, and has been shooting since age 4 and training martial arts since age 7. He's now an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor and NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, plus USCCA certified. Griffin started shooting at 13, trains in martial arts, and is USCCA Certified and NRA Range Safety Officer.

But here's the thing—they're explicit about who they serve: "We do not care about the color of your skin, who you choose to love, or what invisible entity in the sky you pray to. Personal Defense is a basic right for everyone."
