Ottawa County Sheriff's Office processes concealed handgun permit applications for residents of Ottawa, Wood, Lucas, Sandusky, and Erie counties. Getting a permit requires completing a thorough application and understanding Ohio's firearm laws, safe handling rules, and where you can legally carry.
Applications are by appointment only—walk-ins are not accepted. You can book online or call Deputy Heather Moss at 419-734-6823.
Appointment Details: - Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm - Located on the 3rd floor of the courthouse - Security screening required upon entry - Do not bring your firearm to your appointment

Payment accepted: Cash or money order only (payable to Ottawa County Sheriff's Office). No checks or credit cards.
Veterans: Registration fees are completely waived. Bring your most recent DD214 (honorable discharge) or active military ID with weapons qualifications.
Download the Ohio Concealed Carry Application Form from the Ohio Attorney General's website and complete it before your appointment. You'll also need to review the required Ohio Concealed Carry Manual, which covers state law, safe handling, and legal carry locations.
