Founded by lead instructor Charles "Chuck" Smith, a decorated 27-year retired police officer, Five-O Tactical specializes in real-world gunfighting instruction rooted in two core principles: know when to shoot and know how to shoot.

Five-O Tactical was established to fill a critical gap in firearms education. While basic SDA (Self-Defense Act) courses provide foundational knowledge, Five-O Tactical goes further—teaching armed citizens how to survive life-threatening, violent situations through practical, competent instruction.

Charles Smith brings exceptional law enforcement experience to his instruction:

• •27-year retired police officer with state CLEET certification as a police instructor (20 years)
• •FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) certified Firearms Instructor with "Expert" designation—one of only three in his graduating class
• •FLETC certified Active Threat Instructor
• •8 years of plain clothes narcotics experience working both Oklahoma State District Attorney Task Force and federal DEA assignments
• •Nearly 30 years of off-duty concealed carry experience
