Built on Simplicity, Proven on 25,000 Students
Oklahoma Shooting Skills has trained over 25,000 students since 2000. Founder and lead instructor Will Andrews started the program on a straightforward principle: simple techniques beat complicated ones. By teaching just a few proven methods instead of multiple solutions to the same problem, students learn faster and perform better under stress.
The Philosophy
Will's approach comes from serious credentials. He's been an NRA Certified Instructor since 1989, trained directly under John Farnam and other nationally recognized instructors, and shot over half a million rounds while developing Oklahoma Shooting Skills' curriculum. That's not theory—that's field-tested practice.
"Most people don't have eight hours to take out of a day. Our classes are designed to be four hours in length, with the majority of that time being practical or hands-on learning."
Course Structure
Classes are built around real-world adult learning: shorter sessions, high hands-on ratio, small student-to-instructor groups.
Foundation Level:
- •Pistol Skills 2 (4 hrs, $100) — Grip, stance, sights, trigger control, holster work. The foundation everything else builds on.
- •Home Defense Shotgun (prerequisite for advanced shotgun work)
- •Carbine Skills 1 (8 hrs, $250) — Short rifle fundamentals from 0-50 yards with sling work
Speed & Control:
- •Pistol Skills 3 (4 hrs, $100) — Adds reloading and stoppage reduction. Graduates rank in the top 10 percentile worldwide.
- •Pistol Skills 4 (4 hrs, $125) — Movement, footwork, cover and concealment for defensive or competition shooting
- •Pistol Skills 5 (4 hrs, $125) — Low-light shooting with and without flashlight. Stressful, realistic drills.
Intensive Off-Site Classes:
- •Defensive Handgun (8 hrs, $250) — Combines Pistol Skills 2 & 3 into one fast-paced day
- •Defensive Handgun 2 (8 hrs, $250) — Advanced movement, shoot-on-the-move, cover and concealment mastery
- •Defensive Carbine (8 hrs, $250)
- •Neglected Platforms (8 hrs, $250) — Half day sub-compact handgun, half day shotgun—the firearms most people own but rarely train with
Instructor Track:
- •Instructor Development Course (20 hrs, $600) — CLEET-approved for Oklahoma Self Defense Act instructor certification. Tuition rebate available for prior students.

About Will Andrews
Will has been training fighters and shooters since 1981. Second-degree black belt in Jeet Kune Do (1985), NRA Certified Instructor across all firearms categories (1989), Certified affiliate with Defense Training International (1993), Oklahoma Self Defense Act Instructor (1995), Rangemaster Certified (2009). He's studied under John Farnam, Tom Givens, and other top-tier instructors. His humility and willingness to learn continuously shape how he teaches.
Why This Works
The program focuses on what actually matters in self-defense or competitive shooting: efficiency under stress. That means fewer techniques mastered completely, not a menu of options that fragment attention. Students leave understanding their firearm deeply, not confused by multiple methods.
With over 25 years of teaching and a student base that's trained over 25,000 shooters, Oklahoma Shooting Skills delivers results through repetition, proper fundamentals, and realistic drills.
