Full description and what we offer
AOA Outfitters operates guided hunts across Central and Eastern Oregon, with a team that grew up ranching and hunting the region. Owner Zach Bruce started at age five shooting jack rabbits with his dad's .22, then turned his lifelong passion into a business in 2010. His three outfitter partners—Barrett Amacker, Trenton Anteau, and Zarom Bruce—bring similar deep roots in Oregon hunting and wildlife.
"There aren't many places in this state that we haven't dropped a waypoint or two." — AOA Outfitters
Oregon's terrain supports diverse game. AOA guides hunters for:
| Hunt Type | Terrain | Approach |
|---|---|---|
| Backcountry elk | Wilderness | Horseback, spot-and-stalk |
| Mule deer | Public/private lands | Walk-in, glassing |
| Upland birds | Private ranch lands | Foot |
| Mixed game | BLM/National Forest | Customized |
Hunts are customized based on your experience level, target game, and season. AOA holds Registered Oregon Outfitter Guide permits and operates on a mix of private leases, BLM, and National Forest access.
Each guide brings serious field time and animal knowledge:
Clients frequently rebook multiple seasons. Multi-year relationships are common.
"I have hunted with Zach for the past 12 years. His knowledge of elk behavior and methods of stalking the animals are unbelievable. You are treated like family with him and you will not be just another client."
"I have bow hunted elk with Zach for 6 years. I have come home with an elk every year."
AOA offers hunting cabin and other accommodations. Contact to discuss availability and book a hunt.
