Advance Firearm & Training delivers concealed carry instruction that skips the lecture-hall approach. Their 5.5-hour classes run every other Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus one weekday option monthly. Class sizes max out at 10-20 people, which means you're not getting lost in a crowd.
The curriculum covers the mechanics and the law:
- •Gun types, safety fundamentals, magazine and chamber operation
- •How to select and use a holster
- •Oregon and Utah law, plus federal regulations
- •Situational awareness and when defensive force is justified
- •Gun cleaning, storage, and travel with firearms
- •Different carry methods and equipment selection
- •Note: They recommend taking their basic pistol class before enrolling in concealed carry.
Oregon concealed carry licenses are recognized by 11 states. Utah licenses cover 30+ states—including Washington. That reciprocity matters if you travel armed.
Other practical benefits: faster gun purchases (no waiting period with a permit), valid photo ID for identification requirements, and legal protection for carrying across state lines.

Class certificates are valid for one year from the date you take the course. Register online only—they don't take phone registrations due to demand.
Advance Firearm & Training also handles FFL transfers and maintains a digital range. They're a full-service shop, so if you pass the concealed carry class and want to pick up a firearm, you can do it there.
