Full description and what we offer
NW Firearms & Tactics operates out of Eagle Creek, OR with a straightforward mission: teach shooters the fundamentals they need to handle a pistol or carbine safely and competently, then push them toward real-world readiness.
Basic Pistol ($150) Designed for new shooters, shooters brushing up on fundamentals, and anyone pursuing their CHL. You'll cover firearm selection, cleaning, gear selection, and safe handling fundamentals. Bring 50+ rounds of target ammo, your pistol, holster (optional but preferred), shooting glasses, hearing protection, and a notepad. $65 non-refundable security deposit required.
Ladies Day Basic Pistol ($100) This course was built specifically for women. Instruction covers all the basics plus situational awareness and gear selection tailored toward women. Goes beyond mechanics—they focus on making you knowledgeable and prepared for real circumstances. Same equipment requirements as the standard Basic Pistol. $65 security deposit.
CHL1 (Intermediate) ($200 / $180 for Ladies Day) For shooters who've completed their Basic Pistol or equivalent live-fire training. CHL1 gets you comfortable drawing from concealed and open carry, introduces combat shooting techniques—close-quarter shooting, moving off-line, shooting from different angles, and malfunction recovery. You'll need 200+ rounds (no self-defense rounds), your carry holster, extra magazines, dummy rounds, sturdy boots with ankle support, and knee pads (optional). $100 security deposit.
Online or classroom CHL courses don't count as prerequisites for CHL1—must have live fire training.
Basic Carbine ($200) A full-day course covering carbine fundamentals, carry positions, ready positions, shooting positions, sighting and compensation, safety manipulation, after-action drills, malfunction recovery, tactical and emergency reloads, and a final practical exam. Bring a carbine, sling, 300 rounds, eye/ear protection, magazines, suitable range attire, and hydration. Elbow and knee pads suggested but not required.
Private Lessons ($180 for 4 hours / $300 for 8 hours) Schedule one-on-one or small group instruction (max 4 people) tailored to what you want to work on. They'll rent firearms with ammo if needed (prefer students bring their own). Minimum 100 rounds, no self-defense rounds or reloads.
All full-day courses run 9 AM to 5 PM. Bring snacks or lunch—this is all-day training. Classes are held in Eagle Creek, OR. Instruction emphasizes practical technique and real-world application, not just marksmanship.
Women's classes show they understand different students have different needs. Berdugo Martial Arts partnerships indicate they've built relationships with the local martial arts community.
