Full description and what we offer
Wild Country Outfitters manages one of the region's most substantial private hunting operations on a sprawling 230,000-acre ranch in Northern Utah. The operation focuses on two core offerings: big game hunts and fly fishing experiences, both built around conservation principles and sustainable wildlife management.
The ranch specializes in four major species:
All hunts follow fair-chase principles. The guides emphasize patience and animal behavior—understanding patterns and habits rather than rushing the kill. When harvest time comes, every animal is taken down humanely with proper respect for the resource.
Wild Country Inc. partners with corporations, private businesses, and family groups in a conservation-focused lease arrangement. Lease holders can:
Stillwater (Lakes & Ponds)
Nine pristine high-elevation lakes and ponds hold trophy rainbow trout that fight hard and jump high. These healthy, strong fish are catch-and-release only with single barbless hooks.
Freestone Mountain Streams
Four pristine creeks hold native Bonneville cutthroat and cuttbow hybrids. Some sections run alongside the main road for easy access; remote areas offer full-day experiences with 5-10 miles of hiking.
Tailwater River Section
A 2-mile private tailwater meanders through irrigated farmland. Brown trout dominate here—fish that see minimal pressure and eagerly take nymphs, foam dries, and streamers.
Wild Country takes catch-and-release seriously. Minimize air exposure to 10-20 seconds maximum. Use rubber nets (not mesh), heavy tippet for hard fighting, and revive fish before release.

Wild Country's team includes experienced professionals led by Dave Dingman, who grew up hunting and fishing in Oregon and Northern Utah alongside his father. The guide roster includes 30+ experienced professionals, from long-time outfitters to archery specialists. Emphasis is placed on patience, safety, and helping clients succeed beyond what they thought possible.
The best trait a sportsman can have is patience. Let the animal tell its story so you can understand it through its patterns and habits.
This philosophy drives every hunt and fishing trip. Conservation isn't lip service—it's embedded in how they manage the ranch, select hunters, and work with wildlife. Professional guides mentor clients rather than just execute a transaction.
