Full description and what we offer
Ron Flowers built this training operation on real-world law enforcement experience. He retired from the City of Allentown Police as a Lieutenant and Commanding Officer of the Allentown Police Academy, where he spent years training recruits and in-service officers in firearms, tactics, and emergency driving. Before that, he served four years with federal task forces (DEA and FBI) working patrol, investigation, vice, and narcotics. Two deployments to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan added another layer to his tactical background.
Experience - Police Defensive Firearms Training provides Basic and Advanced Handgun, Shotgun, and Rifle training to law enforcement agencies and armed security contractors. Courses are customized to match each client's goals and experience level. Ron holds NRA Law Enforcement Division instructor certifications and is authorized by MPOETC to train and qualify active duty law enforcement officers and retired LE who reside in Pennsylvania.
Ron didn't just take a few courses—he invested seriously in staying current. His training roster includes:
Ron's training record spans from 2011 to 2025—this isn't outdated instruction. He completes multiple advanced courses every single year.
Handgun Training focuses on marksmanship at speed, weapon manipulation efficiency, movement principles, and accuracy under stress. Courses cover red dot pistol fundamentals, covert carry deployment, target discrimination, and multi-target engagements.
Rifle/Carbine Training includes patrol carbine fundamentals, long-distance shooting (100-400 yards), CQB room entry tactics, and integrated combatives. Equipment considerations cover everything from LPVOs to red dot sights with tumblers.
Shotgun Training is included in handgun/shotgun combination courses, covering weapon handling and tactical application.
Night Operations training covers movement and live-fire execution under night vision goggles (NVGs), white light defeat techniques, and IR/visible lasers.

Ron designs training around what each organization needs. Courses aren't one-size-fits-all. If an agency needs low-light pistol proficiency or vehicle tactics integration, he builds and delivers exactly that. If a security firm needs CQB for close-quarters protection details, he's got the framework and instructor background.
Police training and armed security training require instructors who've actually done the work—not just shot competition matches or passed online certifications. Ron's combination of:
...means law enforcement agencies and security contractors get instruction backed by actual experience.
