Penn Armory operates Form1Engraving.com as a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) and Special Occupational Tax (SOT) holder in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Their entire business revolves around one thing: getting your Form 1 markings done correctly so you can legally assemble your NFA build.

They offer three core engraving services:

Form 1 SBR Engraving (AR Lowers) — $20 Designed jigs and 3D-printed tooling position standard AR-style receivers consistently. Fiber laser engraving meets or exceeds ATF requirements (0.003" depth, 1/16" minimum height). You pick where it goes: left side (3 positions), right side (5 positions), or underside/magwell (2 positions).

Form 1 SBR Engraving (Other Receivers) — $20 Same quality, same specs, for non-AR platforms. You describe the location; they handle it. Covers everything from AK-pattern receivers to other configurations.

Form 1 Tube Engraving — $20 Cylindrical tubes for suppressors and other Form 1 builds. Multiple line options (one, two, or four lines), material selection (aluminum, stainless, titanium), and placement choices (left, center, right, rear mount).

During sales periods, standard orders may take slightly longer, but they do their best to meet timelines.

They sell stripped lower receivers with free basic engraving included. You pick your engraving location when adding it to the cart. Optional add-ons include magwell placement or engraving darkening. When your lower ships, they send you the serial number immediately so you can start your Form 1 paperwork without waiting for the engraving to complete. Just remember: your Form 1 must be approved before you assemble anything.

New lower purchases ship to your FFL (required by law), but receivers sent in for engraving return to the original shipper.

They will NOT engrave 80% receivers (finished or unfinished) or other Personally Made Firearms (PMFs) via mail order. ATF regulations. Any PMF engraving requires an in-person appointment.

They also don't sell Form 1 building components like tubes, cups, or jigs. The ATF's stance on SOTs selling these is unclear, so Penn Armory keeps their business focused: engraving only.
