SA Firearms Instruction & Training operates out of Bracken Range (19140 Marbach Ln, San Antonio, TX 78226) and focuses on small-group and one-on-one instruction. Lou runs the operation six days a week—closed Wednesdays only.
Schedule: - Monday, Thursday, Friday: 12 noon–5 p.m. - Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday: 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
Pass-or-fail qualification course at $62 cash. You demonstrate your ability to shoot within Texas state performance standards.
Two-hour course combining beginner instruction with the LTC-104 qualification. Cost: $180 cash, all-inclusive. Firearms, ammunition, range fees, and targets included.

One or two-person classes only—no groups.
Two hours, $150 per shooter. Designed for shooters new to red dot optics. Class firearm and optic provided; bring your own gun with mounted/zeroed optic if you have one. Includes 50 rounds ammunition and all range fees.
Two-hour course, $130 cash. Covers rifle function, zeroing (iron sights or optics of your choice), disassembly/reassembly, cleaning, maintenance, malfunction clearing, and ammunition types. Bring 100 rounds of 55-grain FMJ brass-cased ammo and your cleaning kit.
Customizable scheduling (morning preferred for cooler conditions). Two hours for individuals, three hours for couples. Cost: $130 per person (includes range fee). Add $50 per person to rent a centerfire handgun with ammunition. Lou provides a S.I.R.T. pistol as a training stepping stone and supplies a firearm for each student. Covers safety, firearm manipulation, and accuracy fundamentals.
Lou offers specialized instruction for shooters who've hit a plateau. Whether you're new to shooting or shoot frequently but see no improvement, he guarantees better results or you walk. Classes are tailored to your skill level.
Payment: Cash only, due at end of class. Pre-class PDF provided for review before range day.
Bracken Range provides water ($2/bottle) and porta-potty facilities. Bring your own refreshments if preferred.
