Brandin Swaney was born and raised in Southwestern Pennsylvania, starting with small game hunting alongside his grandfather and father at age 7. That early passion evolved into pursuing every legal game species across multiple states using compound bow, rifle, shotgun, flintlock, and inline muzzleloader.

But what really drives him now? Getting youth into the field. As he puts it: "I would trade all of my harvests to witness a child harvest their first."

Currently not booking new hunts for population evaluation. When available, Swaney offers fully guided spring turkey hunts in the Appalachian Mountains around Farmington, Pennsylvania. This is free-range hunting on private wooded areas and farms—no guarantees on kills, only on the experience.

Hunt Details: - 2-to-1 hunter-to-guide ratio (max 2 hunters per hunt) - Free-range run-and-gun across private properties - Includes guide, transportation, decoys, blinds (if needed), and bird processing - Hunter brings: shotgun/bow, camo, hunting license (OTC general license) - Youth hunts require parent/guardian accompaniment

Lodging available at mountain home on Youghagany River (rates vary—contact for pricing). Lodging package includes additional overnight days.

Typical Hunt Day: Arrive afternoon before hunt, meet your guide, roost birds or watch them go to roost. Hunt from dawn until noon (PA split season: morning half is ½ hour before sunrise to noon, evening half extends to ½ hour after sunset). Since this is 100% free-range, you'll hunt different private properties based on where birds are that morning.

Hunt Success: 2022: 5/5 | 2023: 6/10 with 100% shot opportunity | 2024: 5/8 with 75% shot opportunity

• •Important: A miss or wounded bird counts as a filled tag. Swaney recommends practicing thoroughly with your weapon before arrival.

As a competitive turkey caller, Swaney personally produces all his mouth calls based on sounds from wild turkeys he's heard in the field. Each call comes in a plastic Swaney Outdoors snap case.
