West Chester Gun Club and Athletic Association has been operating since April 1898—making it one of the oldest shooting clubs in Pennsylvania. Located on 22 acres in the heart of Chester County near Exton, WCGC still operates as an ATA-registered trap club and NRA member with a strong reputation for member satisfaction.
Recent membership surveys show extremely strong satisfaction ratings, with members praising the friendly, welcoming atmosphere, quality staff, and well-maintained facilities.
The club operates four trap fields capable of throwing both single and double targets. Each field includes:
12-gauge shotgun shells are available for purchase at the clubhouse. Limit: one box per round of trap purchased.
WCGC welcomes: - Public non-members for trap practice and registered shoots - Guests with member sponsorship - Members only for archery range access
The archery range sits on the east side of the club's 22 acres. Recently leveled and replanted with fresh grass, it's described as one of the most convenient archery ranges in the Delaware Valley. All club memberships include archery access—there is no separate archery-only membership.

Sunday practice includes Safety Checks for new members and public shooters at 11:30 AM.
Mandatory safety checks are required for all shooters (members, guests, and public non-members) who haven't shot trap at WCGC but have previous organized clay sports or significant firearms experience.
How it works: - Register at 11:30 AM in the club office (Sundays only, except during special events) - Complete one supervised 25-target round of trap - Demonstrate proper trap safety, firearm handling, and trap etiquette - Receive a Safety Check Card upon passing
The club's instructor, Chuck Matasic, tailors lessons to all skill levels—from first-time shotgun shooters to experienced marksmen. The club is dedicated to encouraging participation in trapshooting as a sport.

Located: North of West Chester borough, south of Exton, adjacent to South Pottstown Pike and Route 100.
From the West (Downingtown, Lancaster): Take Rt 30 Bypass East or Lincoln Highway toward Exton and Rt 100 South. Travel Rt 100 South to Exton. After Rt 30 bypass interchange, exit right on Pottstown Pike toward West Chester. Turn left at first light onto E. Boot Rd. WCGC is first driveway on right after King Rd.
From the North (Pottstown, Reading): Travel Rt 100 South to Exton. After Rt 30 bypass interchange, exit right on Pottstown Pike. Turn left at first light onto E. Boot Rd. WCGC is first driveway on right after King Rd.
From the East (King of Prussia, Philadelphia): Take Rt 202 South toward West Chester. Exit at Boot Rd. Turn right onto E. Boot Rd and travel 1.5 miles. WCGC is on the left just before King Rd.
From the South (West Chester, Delaware): Travel Rt 202 North toward West Chester/King of Prussia. Exit on Boot Rd. Turn left onto E. Boot Rd and travel 1.5 miles. WCGC is on the left just before King Rd.
