Mule Shoe Outfitters operates out of Pinedale, Wyoming under Outfitter License #BG-283, permitted by the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Founded and operated by Justin and Sandy Wright, the outfit combines serious hunting expertise with a philosophy that clients leave as friends, not just paying customers. With 85% repeat hunters, many of whom have pursued multiple game species with them over the years, the operation has built a reputation for quality and consistency.
7-day hunt | 1x1: $7,500
Mule Shoe trains its own hounds and specializes in pursuing mature tom mountain lions. Tracked UTVs handle transportation to locate tracks and haul gear when snow conditions worsen. Hunts can last minutes or days depending on track quality. Season runs mid-November through March 31st. Licenses available over-the-counter upon arrival.
10-day hunt | 1x1: $13,000
This is their signature hunt—a physically demanding, horseback-supported expedition into remote terrain. Hunters pack camp in with horses and mules, then hunt by foot using glass-and-stalk technique from vantage points. Mule Shoe consistently harvests 160+ class rams from Areas 8 and 10 (opening August 15th and September 1st respectively).

The outfit's success metrics are concrete: 160+ bighorn rams consistently, 280-340 inch bull elk, mature bear color phases (browns, cinnamons, blondes). They focus on quality animals and sustainable harvest practices (targeting mature males, leaving females for reproduction).
