Full description and what we offer
The Preserve Club & Residences operates as a comprehensive hunting and shooting sports destination in Richmond, Rhode Island. Spread across 3,500 unspoiled acres of working farmland, forests, and carefully managed sorghum fields, the facility caters to hunters, competitive shooters, and sporting enthusiasts year-round.
Pheasant hunting is the core offering. The property maintains 8 lush sorghum fields specifically designed for upland hunting, where shooters work with expert guides and professional gun dogs. Beyond pheasants, hunts also include chukars and quail. Private upland hunts accommodate small groups, while larger Continental-style hunts accommodate up to 26 shooters with structured rotations.
The Preserve's signature experience is its European-style tower hunt featuring a 210-foot tall tower—the tallest driven shooting tower in the Northeast. The setup accommodates 24 shooters rotating through 12 shooting pegs plus a 13th warming station. Each shooting date releases 1,000-1,500 birds, with pheasants flushed to pass shooters at varying heights and angles.
Continental hunts follow traditional Edwardian season celebrations. Hunt days begin with a full breakfast (omelet station, Applewood smoked bacon, waffles, eggs any style) and optional warm-up clay shooting. Safety orientation precedes the shoot, followed by breaks between peg rotations featuring scenic walks and camaraderie. Dinners feature filet and lobster combinations, roasted pheasant with endive, mini bison meatballs, and Scotch and cigar pairings.
"The shot presentation was unlike anything I had ever experienced, the bird soared higher than I had ever seen in America. This is the type of European hunt everyone should experience." — Todd Corayer, The Double Gun Journal

Two five-stand courses feature heated and covered shooting positions for year-round use.
