Precision Hunter Course

The Precision Hunter Course at Turkey Ridge Plantation is a full-day advanced training program for hunters who want to shoot farther and more accurately. Your instructors are prior military SOF and law enforcement professionals—48+ combined years of experience, all lifelong hunters.

The curriculum covers everything required for ethical long-range hunting:

• •Long-distance shooting fundamentals and positional work (Prone, Kneeling, Offhand)
• •Equipment setup, rifle optimization, and cleaning for accuracy
• •Scope theory, MOA, Mils, and ballistic software
• •Wind compensation and environmental factors for distant engagements
• •Practical rangefinding, binocular use, and spotting scope techniques

• •Schedule: 0830 start at Turkey Ridge lodge, typically done by 4 PM
• •2 hours classroom instruction
• •5 hours of hands-on range training with 2:1 student-to-instructor ratio
• •1 hour solo practice time after the formal course (100-600 yards)

• •What's Provided: Coffee, pastries, lunch, and water. Rangefinder, binoculars, and spotting scope available if you don't have your own.

• •Rifle capable of consistent 1-inch 5-shot groups at 100 yards (pre-zeroed)
• •Minimum 100 rounds of ammunition
• •Scope with elevation and parallax adjustment capability
• •Hearing protection (suppressors preferred; no muzzle brakes)

Rifle rentals available for $150. Match ammunition can be purchased for $250 if needed.

Training takes place across three different ranges and conditions, from 50 yards out to 600 yards—all ethical hunting distances. You'll engage in scenario-based exercises that teach real-world shot placement and decision-making under field conditions.

The course is designed for both seasoned hunters refining their skills and newer shooters wanting to build a solid foundation in long-range fundamentals.
