The Sawmill Tactical Training Complex operates on 250 acres in Laurens, South Carolina, designed specifically around professional firearms instruction and tactical development. This isn't a typical shooting range—it's a training facility built by combat operators for serious skill development.
Your instructors are multi-tour combat veterans:
- •Eric Carr (Director of Operations): 8 years USMC Infantry, Combat Veteran with 5 deployments to Iraq/Afghanistan. Certified EMT, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, specializes in medical training (TECC, Stop the Bleed) and firearms courses.
- •Dutch Moyer (Director of Training): 31 years US Army, 26 years Special Operations Command, 14 years USASOC Operator. Conducted over 1,000 combat assaults. Founder of DCM Consulting.
- •John "Murph" Murphy: Precision rifle specialist handling long-range classes, ballistics instruction, and optics consultation.
- •Thomas Flinn: Former Marine Infantry Officer (14 years), Foreign Security Force Advisor, CWP and NRA instructor.
- •JT: 20-year Marine Corps veteran, 16 years MARSOC. Instructor in small unit tactics, marksmanship, CQB, survival, and combatives.

The Sawmill offers public range days throughout the month: - 25-100 yard ranges: $75 per day - 1,400 yard long range: $100 per day (includes access to all closer ranges) - Hours: 9 AM - 6 PM - Registration required through their training tab
Public range dates are posted monthly. January included: 19th, 21st, 25th, 27th, 29th.
- •VIP Membership available: Members get free range access any day of the week with 24-hour advance notice to staff.
If you're traveling to Laurens for training, the Sawmill Lodge accommodates students:
- •12 private bedrooms with 2 bunk beds per room
- •Private full bathroom with shower in each room

- •Full kitchen access in dining hall (2 standard refrigerators)

Must be enrolled in a course or event to book a room. Normally 2-night minimum, but early-bird pricing allows 1-night bookings. Full refunds within 5 days of check-in (minus 6.5% processing fee). Check-in 3-9 PM. Book through RMS Cloud.
- •Force-on-Force Training: Walled-in complex with configurable structures, obstacles, and scenarios. 30-foot observation tower overlooks the area for instructor feedback and video documentation.
- •Container Superstructure: Close-quarters and vertical operations training using shipping containers and multi-level structures.
- •Climate-Controlled Classroom: 40+ capacity with internet access, dual monitors with wireless casting, overhead projector, large whiteboards, tables, adjacent kitchen, restrooms, and full electrical access.
The Sawmill hosts public events throughout the year: - Sawmill Showdown (March 20-21): Tactical fitness competition - FAFCR events (February 22, April 12) - St. Michael's Shepherd event (March 6-7) - National Park Team Event (March 2-6)
