Full description and what we offer
Wish Firearms and Tactical Training is a disabled veteran-owned operation run by Michael Wishnia, a 100% permanent and total disabled veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps infantry from 2001–2015. Forced to retire due to combat injuries, Wishnia channeled his expertise and passion for firearms into professional instruction.
20+ years of firearms instruction experience. Wishnia doesn't just teach the fundamentals—he builds confidence. That's the explicit mission: "To train each student, whether beginner or advanced, with the utmost respect and dignity. To help build the confidence of everyone walking through our doors."
The core philosophy is simple: "Without adequate knowledge of its use, there can be few things so purposeless and dangerous as a pistol. Adequate knowledge comes only from competent instruction."
"Was squeezed in last minute for a class. Michael was patient, passionate, and knowledgeable, making a course with dry content easy to get through. Stop Searching, Wish Firearms is the best in town!" — Jennifer Revenaugh, Google review

As of recent changes to South Carolina law: - No permit required to carry (open or concealed) if you're 18+ and not legally prohibited - CWP still valuable for reciprocity—recognized in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida - Faster firearms purchases with CWP (simplified background check) - Firearms cannot be carried in churches, hospitals, schools, government offices, or private properties with posted restrictions - No obligation to notify law enforcement you're carrying
Wish Firearms provides the training and legal education to carry responsibly, regardless of whether you pursue a permit.
Wish Firearms operates under a valid Federal Firearms License, enabling proper legal transfer and compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Wishnia maintains The Break: Firearms and Training Blog covering: - South Carolina gun laws and ownership Q&A - Home defense strategies and legality - Concealed carry and CWP guidance - Firearm storage and safety - Self-defense law and the Castle Doctrine - Home invasion preparedness
