Moran Interests Unltd. teaches a straightforward self-defense philosophy: don't fight, escape. Founded by C.J. Moran, a retired Texas police officer with 15 years of law enforcement training and 15 additional years as a personal protection specialist, the "Escape First - No Fight" program rejects conventional self-defense instruction in favor of realistic street tactics.

In real-world encounters, most victims freeze or scream. Fighting back against a larger, stronger attacker rarely works. The professionals know better—they think their way to safety, not fight their way out.

The statistics back this up: one in four people will experience an attack or attempted attack in their lifetime. 81% of assaults are committed by someone the victim knows. Media portrayals of smooth defensive moves incapacitating attackers bear no resemblance to what actually happens.

C.J. Moran held a Texas Peace Officers License with an Advanced Instructor's Certificate and nearly 3,000 accredited law enforcement training hours through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. After retiring from law enforcement, he became a Level I-IV Instructor with the Texas Department of Public Safety in armed and unarmed security, and worked 15 years as a security consultant, armed security officer, and personal protection specialist for entertainment industry figures, dignitaries, and assault/violence victims.
