Crooks Gun Club

Crooks Gun Club has been serving shotgun shooters since 1960 as a member-owned facility. The 52-acre property in Sioux Falls is dedicated exclusively to trap and skeet—no rifles, no pistols, shotgun sports only.

The club features 13 PAT trap fields equipped with modern ERAD voice-release systems for consistent, smooth shooting. All traps were rewired in fall 2010, and three traps include state-of-the-art lights for night shooting. A dedicated practice trap operates with a new manual thrower that lets members shoot practice targets any day of the week at no charge.

Two full skeet ranges provide variety for shooters working on different disciplines. The facility also includes a practice trap open Sunday afternoons (around 12:30 PM) from May through mid-October.

The club hosts ATA registered shoots throughout the summer, drawing competitors from across the region. Notable event: September's National PVA Wheelchair and Walker Shoot, a signature event that demonstrates the club's commitment to accessible shooting sports.

Membership is required for league shooting and to use the manual trap thrower. Non-members can shoot at the practice trap without joining. Children 18 and under are welcome to shoot if accompanied by a member parent. The club currently has approximately 150 annual members and 150 life members, maintaining a tight-knit, friendly atmosphere while still offering competitive opportunities.

The club operates North Country Events Hall, a 250-seat indoor venue with outdoor park-like setting available for weddings, receptions, business retreats, reunions, and special events. Outside catering allowed. Contact Dustin @ 605-759-2732 for event pricing.
